Inhaltsangabe

Response to the letters from the incarcerated:

“During the pandemic we didn’t have mass for over a year. Through your letters, you brought the readings, gospel, and church to us. You also included Scott Weeman’s 12 Step questions for us to reflect and ponder on. At times when I didn’t know what I needed, God sure did and God brought us you to show us men in blue that people do care about us in prison. I’m very grateful, thankful, and blessed to call you my brother in Christ.”
—Anthony, Soledad Central Prison

“I am doing a seventeen to life sentence. Some of us don’t get a lot of mail, so when Deacon Steve started writing these letters, I thought it was a wonderful thing. I related to a lot of what he wrote. I found them inspiring and uplifting. When I had a bad day, I would go back to my cell and read them again. It’s like getting a letter from a family member, well in a sense we are family.”
—David, Soledad Central Prison

“Deacon Steve’s letters have been a great source of encouragement and spiritual insight during some of the most difficult times of our lives. He eloquently connects the liturgical life of the Church, scripture and traditions, and the 12 Steps. But these letters aren’t just for “addicts,” they’re for all of us sinners who want to apply the Gospel to our lives.”
—Joseph, Soledad Central Prison
