Inhaltsangabe

Welcome, NICU mama. I've been where you are. My twins were born at 24 weeks gestation eight years ago, and we spent four months in the NICU. During that time, I completely disregarded healing my own body following pregnancy and delivery despite the fact that I am a pelvic health physical therapist who specializes in pregnant and post-partum patients. I know what it is like to ignore your own health when your new baby requires intensive care. I have spent the last eight years raising my preemie twins while continuing to work in pelvic health, and NICU mamas hold a special place in my heart. I want to teach each new mom that she deserves healing post-partum, and this can be done right by your baby's isolette. I want to teach you what I wish someone had taught me.

Back pain, urinary leakage, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginal tears, c-section recovery, painful post-partum sex, core weakness, anxiety - all of these and more are common following delivery, and NICU mamas are no exception - we all too often just choose to ignore our own recovery. My goal is to combine my knowledge from over a decade of work as a pelvic health physical therapist with my experience as a NICU mama myself to help guide you (or your loved one) through your own post-partum journey without leaving your baby's bedside. If your NICU journey is in the past (like myself), this information still applies. Once you are post-partum, you are always post-partum and once you've spent time in the NICU, you will always be part of the sisterhood.

Your baby is important, but mama, so are you. Let's address your physical and mental recovery wherever you are in your NICU journey.
