Inhaltsangabe

A gripping read that will keep you hooked ‘till the last page - Four teenage friends from a small town in Oklahoma get thrown into a whirlwind of adventure after a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at a hard rock concert.

Cydnie Smythe, an energetic music-lover with chromesthesia, goes to see her favorite band, Manic Madness, in concert with her friend Stella. As the music starts and the colors swirl, she catches the eye of one of the bandmates, who pulls her up on stage and gives her the opportunity of a lifetime.

Cyndie is hooked and quickly goes to work, pulling her friends Stella, Eric, and Damien together to start a band of their own - Against All Risk. As a transgender teen girl with school bullies, therapy, and her own secrets, Cyndie revels in the soothing swirls of colors that surround her during band practice and the feeling that this is exactly where she should be.

But as the band’s popularity grows, each member must overcome their own hardships with abuse, PTSD, substance abuse, and teen pregnancy. Will they be able to juggle band practice, school, and their personal struggles to make it big? Or will they become another failed garage band, doomed to leave behind their rockstar dreams in favor of a normal life?
