Born in Niagara Falls, New York, Barbara Van Brunt met The Salvation Army as a young girl. Thus began a journey that would bring her to faith in Christ, a commitment to service to others, marriage to Fred, and the ensuing partnership embracing parenthood and full-time ministry. Hand in hand with her husband, Barbara has served in Salvation Army centers in Pennsylvania, and in youth and administrative positions from Maine to Ohio. Now in retirement, she and Fred have been pastoral care officers, and continue to come alongside family, friends and strangers as they faithfully fulfill their calling to service.
