Inhaltsangabe

Paul Lundborg was a Lutheran (ELCA) pastor for 37 years—1969-2006—and served in five congregations during that time. He lives in Olympia, Washington, with his wife of 54 years, Rose Ann, and is near to his two sons and two granddaughters. After he retired, he immersed himself in the study of family history and in 2013 published Death of a Dream, the story of his Swedish ancestors who came to America in 1861. In 1862 thirteen members of the extended Lundborg/Broberg family were killed in the US Dakota War. The book is available at Amazon. Becoming a Pastor is a collection of stories, essays, and poetry that began to look like a memoir in the process leading to publication. The stories from his pastoral work were written to honor the members of congregations he served who helped to shape him as a pastor. This is most certainly not a how-to book about becoming a pastor. For those curious about a pastor’s life this is simply his story of meaningful encounters with people he knew and cared for. The stories relate real, down to earth, both light-hearted, and deeply serious happenings that were part of his pastoral work. In addition, the book contains travel stories, essays, and poetry that reflect the author’s life.
