The Rocky Mountain Railroad Club began in Denver, Colorado, when Carl Hewitt called the first meeting on March 30, 1938 in the Denver Union Pacific freight house. The men who are chronicled in this book--Walker Edwards, Dick Kindig, Jim Gwyn, Otto Perry and Jack Thode--were among the charter members of the Club. Excerpts from letters of these men, covering a period of 75 years, are presented in this book and give detailed information about their trips riding and photographing both narrow-gauge and standard-gauge trains, rolling stock they saw in Denver and other locations, primarily in Colorado. Data on Denver street cars is also included.
