Further, it explains why there is no sensible middle ground which avoids these contradictions. The contradictions with science do not encompass the treasured human qualities of religion, such as morality, camaraderie, caring, love, hope, comfort, tradition, culture and the meaning of life. Instead they pertain to our understanding of reality and what causes events to happen in the physical world around us. They are logical and mutually exclusive contradictions and therefore qualify as facts, not opinion. They exist in perpetuity regardless if one relies on faith or reason for truth. These contradictions greatly affect our understanding of life but are rarely taught in schools, mentioned in popular media, expressed by political leaders or discussed in polite conversation. As a result, people normally lack sufficient information on this subject to make informed decisions on what to believe. Thus, for most people, the evidence and findings presented in this book will be new.
