Fully updated with 15,000 words of new content based on the November 2019 past paper markscheme and maintaining our simpler Box referencing update based on the November 2018 markscheme (first implemented for the July 2019 edition). Please ignore the statements made in the review from "Dom" below as we have fully updated our referencing system to allow for what the ICAEW examiners termed a "cosmetic" change to the markscheme at the November 2018 sitting. The method we have used to update our referencing system is based on specific examination technique grounds which have been ignored in the review by "Dom". The text quoted in the "Dom" review regarding "time and cost" issues is NOT contained in the book (the book HAS been fully updated since November 2018 so there is no need to offer any text to justify a lack of an update). This review has been reported to Amazon due to the false attribution of words to the book.

IMPORTANT – in light of ICAEW’s decision to move the July 2020 sitting to August 2020 and the consequent impact on the release date of the July/August 2020 markscheme (which will not be released until October 2020), we will not be revising our Cracking Case book ahead of the November 2020 sitting. This single 2020 edition is therefore applicable to both sittings in 2020. If necessary, an incremental update PDF will be released ahead of the November 2020 sitting. This single 2020 edition has been updated as much as possible based on the Doughby Limited November 2019 past paper markscheme and so is fully up to date ahead of the July/August 2020 sitting.

New fully revised and updated edition of our popular and student-focused guide to passing this unusual examination which retains our popular Appendix 4 providing advice on efficient use of the ICAEW computer-based assessment software (we also provide tips on computer-based assessment in other chapters of the text).

We have extensively revised the text to take into account the lessons learned from the most recent examination set by ICAEW at the time of writing (Doughby Limited, November 2019), including the apparent ongoing tweaks to the marking of the Executive Summary and also in relation to the wider context linkage marks and Ethics (amongst other key learning points).

The new edition further improves our popular and ICAEW prize-winning "Planning & Reminder Sheets", lovingly honed and prepared to keep you focused on mark-scoring points. Our Planning & Reminder Sheets now include a new planning resource (our Executive Summary Pull-Through Plan or PTP) which we first introduced for the July 2019 edition ahead of the first sitting of the Case Study examination within the ICAEW computer-based assessment software. Our PTP will help you complete your Executive Summary quickly and effectively whilst avoiding some of the time traps resulting from the computer-based assessment software.

Our unique Case Study examination technique is completely focused on the markscheme and unlocks the secrets of a pass through a simplified approach which is radically different from the standard "4 Column Planning Grid" endorsed by many other providers. Successfully used by the July 2014 ICAEW International Case Study prize winner who scored 92% at his first attempt and also by the 2014 ICAEW East Midlands Case Study prize winner who placed first in his region after attending our retake course (having failed first time with another provider). Please also see the numerous 5 star reviews of previous editions as posted on Amazon.co.uk by the many students we have helped since the first edition of “Cracking Case” was published in 2013.

Includes £20 discount voucher against our 2020 live Mock Exam Packs: 5 realistic Mock exams based on the live set of Advance Information, giving you 5 opportunities to practise your timing and technique whilst only reading one set of Advance Information (and the only set of Advance Information which really matters to you).
