Judith and Martin have decided to celebrate their retirement by walking along the pilgrimage route, the Camino de Santiago.
Both enjoy their first days in northern Spain. But, in the following days, she suffers both pain and exhaustion.
She is also deeply worried by what he has said: that, in Santiago, he will tell her what he had decided about their future.
On the fifth day she tells him she is too exhausted to continue. With great difficulty he persuades her to carry on.
Over the next week, she suffers less and less. She becomes more and more aware of the world around her.
By the time they are half way, she has fully recovered. She begins to think in new ways, and about her future.
Martin, however, begins to be more tired, more in pain. With each day, he becomes less interested in the world around him.
A few days before the end, he tells her he is too exhausted to go on. As they are so near the end, she persuades him to continue.
Over the final days, he regains a little of his strength, and they succeed in reaching the Cathedral in Santiago.
What decision about their future will Martin give her? And will Judith tell him she has already made a decision of her own?
