What readers are saying about the book:

“Life of a Firefly is a TIMELESS CLASSIC!!!!!!!!! Let me start by saying, KUDOS to Author Sandra Brown-Lindstedt on a job well-done. She has created an EPIC, ADVENTUROUS, & TRIUMPHANT CLASSIC!!!!!!! There is much I can ramble about but I am not the spoiler-type. DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS BOOK!!!!! I will say this about the author: Her ability to paint pictures with words, is a rare gift to possess. The wordplay of the author puts me in the mind of legendary Dr. Maya Angelou. That is saying a lot!!!!!!!!! I am looking forward to her next project. And I recommend “Life of a Firefly” to schools and public libraries across the globe."

“I can't even express how much I LOVED this book. Usually in a full calendar year I come across one or two books (if I'm lucky) that really stand out. Yours is one of those books. In fact, it's one of the best books I've read in the past decade.”
—Ms. Allison, Editor with Book Editing Services

"It's a book that parents and librarians should put in the hands of young readers. ... Life of a Firefly is funny, uplifting, and, according to the author, ninety-eight per cent true."
—Ruth Latta, Reviewer for the Compulsive Reader and CM Magazine

"Chapter seven is just hilarious! It made me laugh out loud.
—Lyzette Wanzer, Creative Writing Instructor, Author, Coach

"... a compelling adventure indeed; worthy not just of leisure pursuit, but family and school discussion. It's very highly recommended reading."
—Diane C. Donovan, Midwest Book Review, Senior Reviewer Donovan's Literary Services

"Several times, I found myself laughing at Sandy's antics and responses. This was a beautiful tale that will remind children that no matter how bleak a situation may look, a little faith, or a firefly, can take them a long way. This book needs to be in every elementary and middle school library in the US! Not only does it give black children a chance to read books with strong characters who look like them, it also helps to humanize the black community to those outside of it. Well done!"
—Megan B. Joseph, MHA
