Inhaltsangabe

This book closely follows Valmiki’s Ramayana in describing the exploits of the adolescent Rama, the protagonist. The book is intended for those not so familiar with Ramayana. The attempt is to tell the story in more or less ‘speaking’ English, for the young audience. Ramayana by Valmiki is perhaps the oldest epic originating from the Indian subcontinent. Various tellings of the Ramayana exist not just in India in several languages, but in countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, where the influence of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism extended. But for those familiar with Rama’s story, well, this is just another version.
