Inhaltsangabe

God Takes the Ugliest Experiences and Shapes them Beautiful…Doris Reed’s memoir, Where the Meadows Flow, is a heart stirring coming-of-age story from severe trauma to triumph. Doris takes her readers through the complex psyche of a young black girl fighting to become a woman in a civil rights era, rural south with oppression all around her. Doris chronicles how poverty, class, and racial divides kept her and her family trapped in dysfunction that followed her like a generational curse. This is a true-life story where Doris chronicles the horrors of sexual assault in her life and the life of her children, and how these traumatic experiences warps a woman’s identity.Beautifully written, with heartbreaking honesty, Where the Meadows Flow is an honest depiction of how anyone can rise above the pain of their past to live free in Christ.
