Dr. Michael Tarka is a retired human factors engineer. His distinguished 40-year career was spent developing, maintaining, and enhancing our nation's air traffic control system.Six years ago, he was thrust into the role of caregiver as his wife, Diane, of 38 years was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Together, they have two grown children.
