You cannot coach someone else without getting coached in the process. It’s a symbiotic relationship. Thus, it wasn’t until I started teaching others to grow as leaders that I actually began developing the leader within.
Today, my definition of a leader is someone other people follow of their own free will. Real leadership is the opposite of coercion and it spreads from the top down. Companies hire executive coaches when they want the company to change, but companies don’t change. People do. Leadership has to model that change, which is why executive coaches like myself do what we do: Change leaders, and you can change the world.
