The author has been intimately related to Pakistan's energy sector in various capacities as Member Energy heading the department at Planning Commission of Pakistan and as member Board of Director of several energy companies, such as SSGC, SNGPL, ISGS, AEDB, PPIB etc. All major subsectors of energy are covered including: Oil, Gas, Electricity, Renewable Energy, Conservation and Environment etc. The book should be a useful reading for all those have interest in Pakistan's energy sector including, professionals, practitioners, academia and businessmen.
About the Author
Syed Akhtar Ali is an eminent energy expert and consultant, advising public and private sector clients on energy policy, investment planning and management and has authored a number of books on the subject. He has held top management appointments in Pakistan’s public and private sector. He was Research Fellow Energy at Harvard University. His last appointment was as Member Energy, Planning Commission. He was a visiting Professor of Energy at IoBM and has taught energy management to MBA students. He is an author of eight books on various subjects such as energy, governance, political economy and resources. He has done consulting assignments in Energy Sector in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. He has been and continues to be board member of energy organizations and companies. He has been member of Expert Working groups and various committees of federal and provincial governments. He has done many consulting assignments and has supervised projects in the area of sustainability, environment, conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy.
