The reason homophobic Christianity continues to be a problem is because of several reasons. One is that we haven't undertaken a tough aggressive campaign against homophobic Christianity. Too much of the campaign against homophobic Christianity is begging. The second is that there hasn't been a comprehensive coherent and systematic plan to take down and disable, defeat and demolish Christianity. Instead it has been piecemeal and adhoc and all too often sentimental nonsense best represented by the gas lighting slogan, "Defeate Hate With Love."

The author is the editor of two academic book exposing the racism of the neo-Confederate movement by two university presses. His writing was critical to bringing down Confederate monuments.
