Unintended Consequences
Unintended Consequences is an authentic account of an accident. The names, place, and details have been changed to protect the identities of those involved. The story conveys the need to pay attention to details and what can happen when we ignore the little things. It’s also a credit to police, first responders, and E.R. doctors who do their best when needed.
This story won third place in the short story contest at the 2020 Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference held in North Carolina.
A Way of Escape
Amid the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in the 1960’s, bible reading and possession of bibles were strictly forbidden under communist Russian rule. This story is an account of one such bible study with children led by a man and his wife. Today, these studies continue with the son of that man who leads a small and growing church in this historic country. Names have been changed to protect those involved and information has been added to reflect the dangers brave people experienced to share the gospel of Christ.
This short story won first place at the 2021 Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference at the Ridgecrest Conference Center in North Carolina.
