Horses have been my 'life savers' many times and I want to give back to horses. I see so much frustration in the horse world, often based on miscommunication. Horses don't care what you DO, they care how you make them FEEL. They want to feel SAFE with you. Feeling safe is the key element of the Polyvagal Theory and after applying the principles to healing my own trauma, I translated the polyvagal principles to my horse training to help my horse transform from stressed and scared to my now trusted partner.Understanding the autonomic nervous system will help you work better with your horse's true nature. Learning to work with the nervous system instead of against it will make everything you do with your horse easier and more joyful and can even help your horse release stored tension and trauma from the body.
