Candy Evans was born in Seoul, South Korea to an African-American army soldier and a Korean mother. She moved to the U.S. when she was only three months old and spent the first ten years in South Carolina, and the rest in Florida. She s worked in Corporate America for 18 years as a scientist and was inspired to tell a story based loosely on growing up in constant change and turmoil, trying to find her true identity and loving herself.
