With its vibrant illustrations and relatable context--this book portrays the power of words, advocacy, and self-love. As educators and parents, we want all children to possess the character traits of Ruby, Molly, and Wyatt. Remember, it only takes one voice to make a difference!" -- Renee Knapp, LSW, MHRT/C, School Social Worker, Grades Pre-K to 2"I really love Ruby the Readhead! As a first-grade teacher, I saw this type of bullying regularly, with lots of hurt feelings due to words. This is a welcome addition to my read-alouds. The book not only highlights how words can be a form of bullying but also shows the importance of friends standing up for each other and what a difference it can make! Teaching children that "joking" can be a form of bullying is very important." --Linda Cowperthwaite, Grade 1 Elementary Teacher When Ruby moves to a new town, she hopes to make new friends and feel right at home.
