Michael Bracken (www.CrimeFictionWriter.com) is the Edgar Award and Shamus Award nominated, Derringer-winning author of almost thirteen hundred short stories, including crime fiction published in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, The Best American Mystery Stories, The Best Mystery Stories of the Year, and many other publications. Additionally, Bracken is the editor of Black Cat Mystery Magazine and editor or co-editor of thirty-two anthologies, including the Anthony Award-nominated The Eyes of Texas: Private Eyes from the Panhandle to the Piney Woods and, with Barb Goffman, The Derringer Award-nominated Murder, Neat. He is the 2016 recipient of the Edward D. Hoch Memorial Golden Derringer for lifetime achievement in short mystery fiction, and, in 2024, he was inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters for his contributions to Texas literature.
Stacy Woodson (www.stacywoodson.com) made her crime fiction debut in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine's Department of First Stories and won the 2018 Readers Award. It is the second time in the award's history that a debut took first place. Since her debut, she has placed over forty short stories in publications-two winning the Derringer award. Her short fiction has also been nominated for a Macavity Award, a Thriller Award, selected for The Best Mystery Stories of the Year, and adapted for animation. When she's not writing, she co-edits anthologies with Michael Bracken, teaches at Outliers Writing University, and works as background talent for movies and television.
