Über die Autorinnen und Autoren

Deborah Well is the COO of Level Best Books. She works as an editor, marketing consultant, digital strategist, and operations manager. She was editor for the short story anthology Celluloid Crimes, published in 2025. She previously worked for over two decades in finance, with responsibilities including marketing, reporting, and database administration. Before that, she worked for several years in Consulting. She has a BA in English from Sonoma State University in California, and two certifications from Boston University, one in Network Administration and one in Digital Filmmaking. Deb lives in Boston with her partner, author Gabriel Valjan, and their much-memed tuxedo cat, Munchkin.

Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Peter W. J. Hayes lived in Paris and Taipei before settling in Pittsburgh. He worked as a journalist, copywriter, and marketing executive before turning to mystery, espionage, and crime writing. He is the author of the Vic Lenoski Mysteries-twice nominated for the Silver Falchion Award-and his short stories have appeared in the Best Mystery Stories of the Year (2024), The Best New England Crime Stories, Thrill Ride's Best Stories of 2024, and multiple mystery magazines and crime-writing anthologies. Three of his short stories also had brief moments of glory as finalists for the Derringer and Al Blanchard awards.
