Every person carries a mountain.
Some are visible.
Others are not.
When eighty-year-old Mr. Martin quietly decides to climb Mount Charity, the people around him wonder why anyone his age would attempt such a difficult journey.
They assume he’s climbing to reach the summit.
They couldn’t be more mistaken.
The mountain is simply where the conversation begins.
Across forests, waterfalls, volcanic ridges, moonlit trails, storms, and snow-covered slopes, an ordinary hike slowly becomes something else entirely.
Sometimes the mountain challenges him.
Sometimes it comforts him.
Sometimes it simply waits.
And somewhere along the trail, Mr. Martin begins to understand that every person is climbing a mountain no one else can see.
The Old Man and the Mountain is a beautifully illustrated story about purpose, perseverance, friendship, humor, and the quiet
conversations that only happen when the world finally becomes
still.
The mountain was never the destination.
It was the companion.
