Inhaltsangabe

After leaving her privileged family in her late teens, Lola bravely and perhaps naively steps into a new life in Amsterdam. Bolstered by her friend, the priest, she meets Walter, who takes her under his wing to become his muse; and for a while, Lola flourishes under his tutelage. When his overbearing behavior becomes too much, Lola struts off to find new lovers, new venues. Eventually, her role as muse bores her, and she searches for something to call her own. On a serendipitous trip to the Louisiana Museum in Denmark, she finds an unlikely muse and begins to write.Tucked away in wintry Copenhagen months later, Lola brings forth a treasure trove of words, blending the real and unreal, the mystical and earthy, into a fulcrum of whimsy and wonder. Raven Talk, masterfully entices the reader and leads into six more thought provoking stories, ending with a delightful finish.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

After graduating from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA with a degree in Illustration, RA Cook formed HMA Publishing to house her creative work. "These whimsical creations needed a place to live outside my head so I formed HMA. The initials stand for the first letter of each of my grandsons' name: Haakon, Marius and Anders." "Since they were tiny children, my grandsons have been beta listeners/readers, colorers and critquers of Grandma's stories. Bless those boys. They are my best and worst critics."RA Cook lives in the Pacific Northwest. She spends her time creating: writing, sketching, illustrating, narrating her stories, and working in the garden for inspiration. When asked what makes her happy she says, "my stories, illustrations, bountiful garden and family." Sighing, she turns to look out over the diamond studded waters of Puget Sound. "And my special dog friend, Stuart. Life wouldn't be right without him."
