After leaving a downtown nightclub, Mia vanishes into the cool mountain night. Soon after Mia’s disappearance, the man who confronted Mia suddenly disappears. Police later find his motorcycle on the side of a road that is tarnished with bloodstains. Two missing persons, suspicious circumstances, and very little evidence. How will partners Shaw and Nichols solve the mystery without bodies or witnesses? What role does Officer Reynolds play? Multiple suspects emerge, some with a checkered past. Will Mia be found? Did she run off with someone? Or is she dead? Follow the heart-pounding action and mystery as Shaw and Nichols hunt for the answers.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

After retiring from the Boulder Police Department following 36 years in law enforcement, former Police Chief Mark R. Beckner began a career writing fictional crime dramas. His stories draw from his imagination and time as an investigator, including his work on the JonBenet Ramsey case. While each story is fictional, the police and forensic work are based on reality. His knowledge and experience gained over his long tenure add realism to his crime thrillers. This is his second book in the Boulder Detective series.
