Gerald Patnode (Gerry) has led many lives, which provide a rich, fertile background for his storytelling. These lives range from a stint in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis to time as an Ocean City, MD, police officer, a serial entrepreneur, a college professor, and a dean. He has seen life as an adventure in fun, daring, chance, and a great deal of good luck. His writing career began in the early 1970's as a freelance journalist, writing for a variety of business magazines and newspapers in Baltimore, and later a weekly column for the Baltimore Business Journal. This exposure evolved into a weekly public affairs television program in Baltimore and also as a regular on-air political prognosticator and pollster for the NBC-TV affiliate WBAL. In his later years as a university professor, he wrote three non-fiction books on political power and decision-making, published chapters in textbooks, peer-reviewed papers in Academic Journals, and case studies published in textbooks.His fiction writing includes two screenplays and his first novel, The Stirling Defense, which launches September 1st, 2026.
