David C. Hoke grew up on RoboCop, Die Hard, and Star Wars, and spent years making indie films in Texas - writing, producing, and directing pictures that landed in regional theaters, on television, and on Amazon Prime. When the stories got bigger than the budgets he could raise, he did the only logical thing and wrote them as novels instead. Pistol Jake is his Old West thriller - the moral weight and landscape of a John Ford picture, with the violence and the sex Ford never got to shoot.
