The Six-Pillar Playbook is a practical career system for project controls professionals who want to move beyond technical execution and drive real results.

Most professionals get better at their job—but struggle to turn that improvement into career growth. The difference is not knowledge; it’s application. The professionals who advance build systems, improve outcomes, and demonstrate measurable value.

This book provides a structured, repeatable approach to doing exactly that. It shows how to apply project controls disciplines—including construction scheduling, cost engineering, and claims avoidance—in a way that produces visible impact and accelerates professional growth.
At the core of the book is a simple system: Mentor → Build a Process → Improve Results → Capture Proof → Generate Opportunity

Using this approach, readers learn how to:

  • Strengthen schedule and cost performance through effective review and validation
  • Apply project controls skills in real, high-impact situations
  • Use mentoring to create measurable results and build credibility
  • Prevent problems through proactive claims avoidance
  • Convert technical work into recognition, referrals, and career opportunities
The book is designed for schedulers, cost engineers, project controls professionals, and construction managers who want to increase their influence, visibility, and career trajectory. It focuses on practical action rather than theory, with tools and examples that can be applied immediately.

The guiding principle is simple: take one person, improve one process, and prove the result. Repeated consistently, this approach builds both expertise and reputation.

Rather than producing reports without impact or reacting to problems, readers learn to take control of outcomes, build trust within project teams, and position themselves as valuable contributors to project success.

The Six-Pillar Playbook is not just about doing the work—it is about turning that work into results, and turning those results into long-term career growth.
