Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Amanda Mander is a memoirist and nature writer. Her work explores humanity's relationship with our wild kin. Her latest platform is her Substack, Wild Kin News, where she delivers thoughtful essays on conservation, animal behavior, and wildlife experiences. Raised by an American father and an Italian mother, and shaped by time living in Indonesia, Sweden, Italy, and New Zealand, she brings a global, cross-cultural lens to her writing on wildlife and place. She now lives in the Pacific Northwest, where she focuses on supporting her wild neighbors but continues to travel in pursuit of ethical, conservation-minded encounters with wild animals. Her debut memoir, Wild Kin: Embracing Our Animal Family, weaves personal narrative with conservation reporting to ask what it would take for us to remember we are kin to the animals we've grown estranged from.
