Top edges yellow. Half title creased and slight wear to extremities, but otherwise a very good copy. Decorated by title page and headpiece vignettes. First US edition of Iris Murdoch's fourteenth novel, first published in 1971. It is a complex story set in London with a theme of accidental occurrences and coincidences.
