4° (cm. 28) - Pp. 10 prelim., incluso il frontesp. inciso, pp. 80, più una grande tavv. ripiegata con la pianta della villa e dei giardini e 29 tavole incise in rame (una ripieg.), raffiguranti sculture e antichità. M/pelle ottocentesca con nervi e punte, titolo dor., restauro al dorso, sguardie in carta marmorizzata. Prima e unica edizione illustrata di quest'opera (Giustina aveva già stampato il testo a Ginevra in una piccola edizione per la circolazione privata) in cui si descrive la villa di Altichiero a Padova, classico esempio di casa aristocratica, luogo di ritrovo e ambiente culturale di cui Wynne fu ospite abituale. Justine Wynne (1737-1791) era una donna colta e affascinante, che dopo la sua introduzione nell'alta società veneziana ebbe strettissimi rapporti con Andrea Memmo, un nobile veneziano, discepolo delle idee architettoniche di Lodoli. In uno dei suoi viaggi in Europa, conobbe Giacomo Casanova, che ne parla nelle sue "Memoire"; poi nel 1761 sposò Philipp-Joseph, conte Orsini-Rosemberg, ambasciatore d'Austria a Venezia. Quest'opera, scritta negli ultimi anni della sua vita , descrive la villa, vicino a Padova, di proprietà di Angelo Querini, grande collezionista di antiquariato e appassionato di architettura, che dedicò la seconda parte della sua vita interamente alla villa, facendone l'esempio di quell'utopismo agrario che incuriosiva gli intellettuali che si aprivano alle idee illuministiche. La villa incorporò una rilevante collezione di sculture (qui accuratamente illustrate nelle tavole del volume), alcune antiche, altre commissionate dallo stesso Querini; purtroppo dopo la sua morte l'edificio andò presto completamente perduto a seguito di varie vicende, e quindi questo libro è l'unica vera testimonianza di quello che fu un significativo giardino all'italiana del periodo illuministico.
