PO stamps to front cover & title page. The accompanying paper by Albert C. Smith, assistant curator, NY Botanical Garden, is an account of the American species of the tribe Thibaudieae of the Vacciniaceae of the blueberry family. A group of plants almost wholly confined to the New World Tropics, ranging from southern Mexico to British Guiana, northwestern Brazil, Bolivia, and Peru. The flowers of many of the species are exceptionally showy & form one of the outstanding features of the vegetation of the higher Andes where the plants often occur in abundance . In all, 20 genera & 240 species are recognized, of which 3 genera & 75 species are here described as "new".
