Power system voltage stability is one of thechallenging problems faced by the utilities.Innovative methods and solutions are required toevaluate the voltage stability of a power system andimplement suitable strategies to enhance therobustness of the power system against voltagestability problems. This is the motivation behindthe research carried out as a part of the PhDprogram and presented in this dissertation. Thefirst two chapters of the book discuss thephenomenon of voltage instability in brief, andpresents an overview of the existing work. Next twochapters present the details of the innovativemethods developed in this research for onlinevoltage stability monitoring using ANN. In the nextchapter of the book, a sensitivity-based voltagestability enhancement method is proposed,considering multiple contingencies. Using thesensitivity information, correct amounts ofgeneration rescheduling are found by using linearoptimization.
