Color and black and white illustrations throughout, with four plates including one foldout. Under the directorship of Charles Peignot, head of the French type foundry Deberny et Peignot. According to the website of the Rochester (NY) Institute of Technology, Peignot's objective was to cover "all subjects near or far from printing, of its history, and its diverse contemporary manifestations."
