Hardcover. Zustand: Good. First Edition. Hardback. 8vo. pp 240. With the Uranian bookplate of Tim D'Arch Smith (by Goor). Some minor Uranian content but not noted in 'Love in Earnest.' Pencil note states there was a copy in John Gambrill Nicolson's collection annotated by Cottam. This copy also has a few pencilled notes, mostly corrections, possibly by the author. An earlier version had appeared in 1911. This has poems, a play 'Phoebus and Mariane' and a long section of prose 'The Florentine Notebook'- many bon mots, apercus, aphorisms etc., A tipped in note at the front states: "This volume was on the press at the outbreak of war. Difficulty in communicating with the author must explain both its tardiness in appearing and the trifling corrections that appear." Rare. Original publisher's light green paper covered boards with lettered title labels on spine and on front cover in black and white and red.
