"As part of establishing and perpetuating the Fuhrer's cult of personality, many villages, towns, and cities across the Third Reich and occupied territories would officially dedicate an 'Adolf Hitler Street.' The resulting street signs became cherished war trophies for Allied soldiers during the march across Europe. This example in remarkably good condition, was brought home in a G.I duffle bag in 1945.
