Containing a series of adventure stories, reprints of the dime novels of the American publisher, Beadle & Adams, according to 'Penny dreadfuls and comics: English periodicals for children from Victorian times to the present day", exhibition catalogue, 1983.A scarce work, rarely seen in commerce.Each issue separately paginated.Bound in one, this copy features: no. 543, 610, 721, 713, 733, 551, 563, 549, 561, 541, 562, 514, 510, 511.'Black Vulture, or the Aztec's Treasure,' 'Detective or Rogue?', and 'Free Rangers of the Sierra', 'The Lambs of Littlecote,' among many others. In full cloth binding. Externally a trifle rubbed with shelf wear, bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities, lightly chipped to head of spine with slight loss to head, boards marked. Loss to front and rear pastedowns exposing boards, free endpapers excised. Close cut to lower margin occasional leaf, only affecting titles to lower margin. Internally, binding generally firm.
