Über die Autorinnen und Autoren:

Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832 – 1898), is better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll. Carroll was an English children's writer, most famous for his books Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass. Famous for his use of word play, logic, and fantasy, Carroll is considered a great in the genre of literary nonsense. He was also a mathematician, photographer, inventor, and Anglican deacon. He died in Guildford, Surrey.

Libico Maraja (1912 – 1983) was an Italian illustrator, best known in the United States and the U.K. for his lively illustrated versions of such classic books as A Christmas Carol, Gulliver’s Travels, The Seven Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor, Tales from Hans Andersen, and many more.

His career in Italy was long and diverse. In addition to his successful book illustration career, Maraja lent his talents to advertising art, sheet music design, comic books, and postage stamp art. He was the chief set designer and animator for one of Italy’s first animated films, “The Rose of Baghdad” (1941), and also designed sets and costumes for ballets.

He died in Montorfano, Italy.
