190 pgs. + adverts., 8vo. An early reprint edition by a publisher who specialized in reissuing cheaper editions of children's and classics books in the 1880s and 1890s. Green stamped cloth binding, nicely decorated, with chamfered boards. A few tiny flecks of white on the front surface, and light stamp impression to the spine title. Paper is of a cheap grade, but it has a good finish which allowed for nice reproductions of the 42 Tenniel illustrations, One section slightly oversized in manufacture, but could be trimmed. A quite early U.S. appearance of this title, though it probably was not authorized. Very good condition (no dust jacket). Printed about 25 years after the legendary and ultra rare first and second issues that sell for many thousands of dollars. Date of issue is 1893 and the Tenniel illustrations are present and sharp.
