Otherwise book is in very good condition-Blue Boards with crisp gilt lettering on the spine. Oxford insignia in gilt also at bottom of spine. Very slight fraying on top and bottom of spine. Pages are yellowed from age, but in excellent condition, minus the slight underlining towards end, as mentioned. Dust jacket, but very poor condition: Spine itself browned from sun and wear; top of spine of DJ is missing and the bottom has both a tear as well as missing piece.; top back of DJ also has tears and yellowing. This book has been hailed by critics as 'a truly great work'; "Out of the multitude of volumes on literary criticism there arises once or twice in a generation a truly great work.
