Dust Jacket Condition: Good+. Book almost near fine, boards clean, sharp with no spine lean. Endpapers toned, spitting to top edge of pages when book closed, previous owner¿s name to inside board (hidden by dust wrapper inner flap, folding map has one, small square of clear tape to bottom hinge, map pristine else, remainder of contents bright, clean and unmarked throughout. Dust wrapper is a little shelf worn, some chipping to spine ends, closed tears to bottom spine end, otherwise fully intact and not price clipped. Charles Burton Buckley (1844-1912) lived in Singapore for nearly 50 years, and worked as Confidential Adviser to the Sultan of Johore and Hon. Adviser to the Johore Government. Originally published by Fraser & Neave 902, even this reprint is quite scarce. Heavy book which will require additional postage to delivery addresses outside the UK.
