Large book, about 8 x 11 inches, reddish brown library binding with yellow and black version of dust jacket illustration. Corners sharp, very slight wear to bottoms of boards. Binding strong. Pages are soft and much handled, and browned around all the edges. There are about nine small tears, and about 20 more are nicely repaired with tape which is not brittle, and one page is missing a 2 inch corner. Full color dust jacket is taped to the boards and is protected by mylar cover.Library discard with pocket glued to wrinkly front endpaper. This is the 1949 edition, therefore first edition?
