Two volumes of the Smithsonian report for the years 1861 and 1862, in lovely half morocco bindings with paper covered boards. With the bookplate of Harvard University, Graduate School of Business and Administration Baker Library to the front pastedown of the 1862 copy. The Smithsonian institution was established in 1846 'for the increase and diffusion of knowledge'. They published their own magazines for many years. These works are an annual report on the runnings of the institutions including the different museums and their progress. In half morocco bindings with paper covered boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the boards and extremities. Slight fading to the rear board of the 1861 copy at the head. Bookplate to the front pastedown of the second volume for Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration, Baker Library.
