Royal octavo. Dark blue cloth with gold gilt lettering stamped to the spine. Marbled endpapers. Both parts of Vol. XIV bound in with their original wrappers and contained within the one volume. Illustrated in black and white with photographs, drawings and three folding maps, one in colour. Some wear internally to the wrappers and occasional chipping throughout, with professional restoration having been done on a few leaves. Occasional marginal notations in ink and pencil. Some light rubbing along the edges of the boards. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. A very good and complete copy of this scarce item. Arctic Bibliography 16862. Based off of an expedition organized by the American Museum of Natural History in 1908 under the leadership of Stefánsson and Rudolph M. Anderson to conduct an anthropological and zoological study of the coast between the Mackenzie River and Hudson's Bay, as well as adjacent islands.
