'Overschie. In cartouche: 't Dorp Overschie meerendeels onder de Poortery […….].'Engraving on hand laid (vergé) paper. Watermark: yes. Sheet size: 29,5 x 20,7 cm. (11,6 x 8,1 inch). Image size: 26,5 x 18 cm. (10,4 x 7,1 inch).This rare print was first published in 1678 a part in the edge of the Kaart Figuratief (Caerte figuratyff / Kaerte figuratyf) of Delft, a wallmap. The print has also been used in: Bleyswijck, Dirk Evertsz. Beschryvinge der stadt Delft, betreffende des selfs situatie, oorsprong en ouderdom, opkomst en voortgangh (…). Delft: Arnold Bon, 1667. It is not clear where the presented print originates from. On the plate has Pieter Smith, from Amsterdam, been written as the publisher. Ref: Lugt 195, Lugt 2228Made by 'Johannes de Ram ' after an anonymous artist. Johannes de Ram (1648-1693) was a dutch printmaker, cartographer, publisher and salesman in Amsterdam.Condition: Good, given age. Light creasing in the right margin, small tear in paper edge, thin paperspot in the left margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
