The image size is ca. 22.8 x 18.1 inch.Antique map, titled: 'The Coast of Newfoundland from Placencia to Cape Bonavista - The Havana Harbour - The Bay of Honda - A Draught of the River Plata in South America.' - Four maps on one sheet: a map of Avalon Peninsula, Newfoundland. the harbour and fortifications of Havana, Cuba. Honda Bay (unknown). the course of Rio de la Plata, a river between Argentina and Uruguay. This includes Buenos Aires and Montevideo. Each map features a compass rose. From the Atlas: 'Maritmus & Commercialis .', by John Senex, published in London, 1728.Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after 'Edmond Halley'. Edmond Halley (1656-1742) was an English astronomer, geophysicist, mathematician, meteorologist, and physicist who is best known for computing the orbit of Halley's Comet.Condition: Very good, given age. Original middle fold, as issued. A small tear in the lower middle fold. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
