This report was compiled from information supplied by 298 mills or corporations involved in cotton manufacturing in the United States and includes a summary chart by state, details about revenue taxes, cotton grown abroad, extracts from correspondence directed to the Association with suggestions for improving the industry, and five statistical tables. Table No. 1 is titled Cotton Crops of the United States from 1826-27 to 1866-7, inclusive; Table No. 2 is titled Statistics of British Cotton Trade and Manufactures, from 1816 to 1867, inclusive; Table No 3 is titled A Condensed exhibit of the Cotton Manufacture and Trade of Great Britain, 33 years; Table No. 4 is titled Showing the Fluctuations in value of Gold, Cotton, and Cotton Goods, from April, 1861, to June, 1868, inclusive; and Table No. 5 is titled Showing the average prices, in England, for periods of ten years, of Whet and Beef during 130 years, and of Cotton and Yarn for 70 years, ending in 1860. The last two pages of the booklet lists the names of the officers of the Association. Great glimpse of the cotton industry and market several years after the end of the Civil War.
