The many forms and traditions of Celtic poetry are highlighted in this beautifully illustrated volume, from boisterous clan recitations to monastic verses. These poems have been translated from all of the Celtic languages of the British Isles and Brittany and span the entire Celtic tradition. For centuries, Celtic poetry retained its links with the past through the oral tradition. It is this tradition of ancient celebrations, laments, and reflections that is so superbly presented here.
