T. Nelson and Sons, 1892. Bound in the publisher's blue cloth over bevelled boards, with titles in gilt on the spine and top board. Very good condition, the spine darkened and rubbed, corners lightly bumped, front endpapers split along the hinge but the binding is unaffected, being tight and sound. Occasional small light marks, mainly clean. Illustrated with a tissue guarded frontispiece and 13 other plates, five of these double-page, one folding map and numerous illustrations within the text. This is the journal kept by Kane during the voyage to find the missing Franklin expedition. 21cm, 8.25 inches, tall, 443 pages, 1 page glossary, plus 32 pages publisher's advertisements.
