Pp. 59-80 comprise a Descriptive Catalogue of Astrological Books by Llewellyn George. Stapled booklet in yellow wrappers printed and decorated in black with a vignette in black on the front cover of a shelf of books beneath which is the announcement, Llewellyn Publications, Astrological Books With a Purpose. Just touches of wear to extremities, wrappers ever so lightly soiled, some rust on the staples, corners square and flat, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. Born in Swansea, Wales, in 1876. Llewellyn George had to publish many of his first astrological pamphlets himself. In 1906, he published his first best seller, 'The Llewellyn Moon Sign Book and Gardening Guide'. Since he could find no appropriate outlet for astrological literature, George started his own publishing company, Llewellyn Publications, in 1901 in Portland, Oregon. He published 'The A to Z Horoscope Maker' in 1910, which has become a classic text in astrology. For his support of astrologers and the science of astrology, George was awarded a lifetime membership to the American Federation of Astrologers in 1939. After George's death in 1954, his publishing company was sold and eventually bought by Carl Llewellyn Weschcke amd relocated to St. Paul, Minnesota, where it still operates today. Llewellyn Publishing Company is considered to be the oldest and largest publisher of New Age, Metaphysical, Self-Help, and Spirituality books in the world. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 008744
